running a standard power cord (like an extension cord) inside a wall is a major electrical code violation, creating a serious fire hazard because they aren't rated for in-wall use, lack protection, can be damaged by nails/staples, and aren't meant for permanent installation, requiring specific in-wall rated cables (like CL2/CL3) or proper conduit for any permanent wiring.

Super easy to install, no more cords! I used a multitool/oscillating saw instead of the handsaw they provided but I’m sure that would have worked just fine as well. Had everything done in 10-15 minutes. Most of the time was just deciding the location then trace the template, cut the holes, and the the screws work like drywall anchors and don’t actually screw into anything. Super happy with it.

Overall, I love this in-wall cable conceal kit. It looks nice and clean, and I love that the upper box is a 3-gang. It’s also nice to have the drywall knife included in the kit. My only gripe is that the instructions didn’t include that you may need to drill a hole to start your drywall cuts (the knife included doesn’t have a sharp enough end point to puncture the wall) and that you may need fish tape of some kind to get the power cord through the wall to your lower cut hole. Luckily I already had both on hand, so these posed no problems. Once installed, it looked great!
